Founded in 1992 by Barry Scott, the American Negro Playwright Theatre is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that is committed making a difference in the local and world community. The board and leadership team is comprised of an array of talented individuals that come together for the common goal of serving, and making a positive difference in the lives of others through the art of theatre. Our Mission is to sustain the most visible and viable professional African American Theatre organization in America.
