Monica Jones – Artistic Director/Founder

Monica L. Jones is a performing arts enthusiast and has trained in most areas of the Arts such as Ballet, Liturgical, Modern, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Tap, Piano, Theatre, and Vocal. She began training in dance at the age of 12 under the direction of the Artistic Director of Ballet Mississippi, David Keary. During this time, she was also accepted into Power Academic and Performing Arts Complex (APAC) in Jackson, MS as a Theatre major studying under Lelon Thompson, Thomas Coates, and Sharon Wheeler. She is a veteran to New Stage Theatre and has performed as a dancer in shows such as, ‘Guys and Dolls, Jr.’ and ‘Annie Jr.’ Later, she performed for institutions at William Carey University and Belhaven University, where she is a graduate of the latter.

She has over 17 years of teaching experience in the Arts. Her students have danced internationally in the Dominican Republic and Jamaica and for ‘Bobby Jones Presents’, the National Black Caucus for State Legislatures, Belhaven University Community Dance Concert, Hinds Community College, the Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation, March of Dimes for Premature Babies and before audiences with Bishop T.D. Jakes, Donnie McClurkin, LeAndria Johnson, Micah Stampley, Judith McAllister, William McDowell, the Mayor and the Councilman of our city.

She was recently a 2016 guest choreographer and instructor of Flags for ‘Bobby Jones Presents’ that aired on the Impact Network. She has also been a faculty member for the Mississippi Christian Performing Arts Festival teaching how to incorporate dance, flags, and tambourines in Worship. The Christian Performing Arts Festival is one of the largest performing arts festivals in the state of Mississippi.

Monica is a member of the International Dance Commission and the National Liturgical Dance Network. She is the co-writer of the stage productions, ” A Picture of Calvary”, “Beyond the Manger”, and “The King Is Coming” which each have had approximately 3,000 in attendance. Her favorite quote is, “Faith is like WI-FI, it’s invisible, but it has the power to connect you to what you need!” Monica is married to Kevin Jones and they have one son, Peyton Andrew Jones
